This house supports the use of fracking in the UK

May 1, 2014 @ 5:00 pm / 7:00 pm

The Manchester Debating Union are back after the Easter Holiday with a debate on the use of fracking in the UK –

Shale gas extraction or fracking remains a highly controversial issue. Critics have claimed that it has the potential to cause huge damage to the local environment and argue that attempting to extract and burn yet more fossil fuels undermine efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Its proponents argue that it constitutes a comparatively clean fuel and provides a cheap and secure source of energy.
